That's why I love the MI and CI slots...
I too love the MI, CI slots. It makes the infielders much deeper that are forced into lineups. My first and oldest league is a 10 team auction, rotisserie format. No MI or CI but we are required to play two position players at each position (2 second basemen, two shortstops, 6 OFs, etc.). This forces a lot of players into the lineups that languish on the bench in other leagues. It has been a fun format for close to 20 years.

Just got back. Have not read any of the last few pages yet, but I will try to catch up tonight. It looks like my team is doing okay despite 2 DL'ed hitters and a couple lost starts. Hope everyone is doing well.

I could deal with everything except playing 2 catchers.....I don't even like playing one catcher.

Yes, deep leagues rule. My main league started out as a 12 team, jumped up to 14 pretty quickly and we recently went up to 15. We used to have 28 man rosters, but on the switch to 15 teams, we dropped it to 27 man rosters. Painful actually, because there are always a handful of players I want to pick up, but usually have no room... although "room" appears where you didn't think you had it last week... but hey, it's not like me to make many transactions! :)

I think you'll enjoy the new slots Rev, they should be standard if you ask me.

I've never been in a league larger than 12 teams. I've been in an AL and NL league so I've dealt with a thin talent pool before so I guess playing with 15 teams would be similar.

Yes it's painful when there are those guys out there you want to pick up but don't have the room, but what is more painful (as a commissioner) is when you look around and see other teams that can use these guys but just ride things out with the dead weight on their bench. :L

Alex Rodriguez (hip) was scheduled to play with High-A Tampa on Friday night but didn't report to the ballpark.
Rodriguez met with Major League Baseball officials on Friday to discuss his involvement with the Biogenesis clinic. After the meeting, he was scheduled to play in his seventh rehab game. A-Rod didn't show up at the ballpark, eventually telling the Yankees he wasn't going to play in the game. Luckily, the contest was postponed due to rain. Yankees general manager Brian Cashman, having learned from a recent outburst toward the former star, refused to comment about the New York Post's report. Rodriguez is in Tampa's lineup on Saturday. I am coming to the thread for some assistance. Without getting into much detail, I will be picking up a 2B in my long time, 4X4, routissourie league and I have 4 options:
Rendon, Dozier, Gyorko, or Franklin

Can you guys give me some helpful analysis? I am in second place and bragging rights in this league (full of old hockey buddies) are huge.

Rendon and Dozier aren't on the same level.

I think Gyorko is the safer choice, but Franklin has the higher ceiling. If you need power more, go with Gyorko. If you need speed, go with Franklin. If you don't have a specific need, then follow your gut here. Both guys should be solid options at 2B.

I agree on Rendon as far as future value, but not for this year alone.

Dozier. 233/310/380
Gyorko 277/335/450
Franklin 270/330/450

Since Rendon's call up 310/350/480

I also think he has the highest skill set, so likeliest to perform best moving forward.

All decent options though, no doubt (besides Dozier) :)

I feel Dozier is too streaky, and not enough of the good stuff. I think Franklin is dealing with a knee injury at the moment, serious or not, I don't think you need to jump for him. I guess Gyorko brings you more power, but I don't think he's proven anything to me to be a must add over Rendon, who seems to be the healthiest/best option for you and that's who I would take.

I wonder where Garza will land? Then, I wonder if Jake Arrieta will be the guy. Then I wonder if Jake can get passed the 5th inning. I've always liked Jake, will the NL be a better fit for him?
