The Eagles, who, as o understand it, are always in the hunt for whatever title thier level plays for...are like 25 minutes away, and no one ever mentions them on air. They do get print and web press, but no radio or TV coverage, so you have to seek that info put, it's never served to you, like it or not...or in my world view, 'force fed'

Was on the golf course yesterday with some friends...we were wondering what we gonna look forward to every other day now that Hockey is over. What a great ride to the cup for the Avs.

Boy was I WRONG. It's been a week long slobber-fest. I guess rightfully so, but geesh.

21. Pittsburgh Penguins -- Owen Pickering, D, Swift Current (WHL)

NHL Central Scouting ranking: No. 15 (North American skaters)

Pickering (6-4, 180) led Swift Current defensemen with 33 points (nine goals, 24 assists) and 17 power-play points (four goals, 13 assists) in 62 games. He was named Western Hockey League Central Division Rookie of the Year and was made the Central Division Second All-Star Team. He also had two assists and was a plus-2 in four games for Canada at the 2022 IIHF Under-18 World Championship. The 18-year-old left-handed shot is a very good skater with room to add strength. He impressed scouts with how he handled heavy minutes on a team that had a minus-65 goal differential and finished 10th among 12 teams in the WHL Eastern Conference.

Read that last sentence. He impressed scouts by being on one of the worst teams in the league. Not a sentence you see much in a scouting report.

Hockey anyone...
There was some concern about drafting Russian players since prior to the draft, the Flyers goalie was unexpectedly stationed to a Russian military base for an unspecified length of time.

can't say that I've enjoyed this off season for the Blues when they were the only team that really gave COL a run for their money in the playoffs this year and it appears they are reloading to compete in '23-'24 vs '22-'23

Armstrong has pulled some rabbits out of his hat so willing to give him the benefit of the doubt at this stage. Still wouldn't be surprised to see Tarasenko moved either before or during the season

I'm not gonna complain about the 3 Cups under GMs Tallon & Bowman, but they rewarded Toews, Kane, Keith and Seabrook to the point that we couldnt hang on to future players like Panarin and now DeBrincat.
I honestly have no clue where the new regime is going. Looks like its back to cellar like in the 80s and 90s.
