Unless of course you're an Avs fan.
prefacing this with the fact that I know jack s#!t about hockey these days, but the Av's going 7 in the playoffs without their captian, without their #2, and with some other important jack wang: because of what, best case was some very poor decisions with- best guess- a prostitute in his room the night before/day of a game-- worst case, he is a member of a human sex trafficking ring--
all in all..pretty impressive

Not hockey, but my boss just dropped this one on me today.

Lebron James is the greatest of all time and Michael Jordan is not even top 3.
I question his competency to be your boss.
23 is without question #1..23 is the NBA GOAT much like the earth is round-is just is

Lebron, Kobe, WIlt, Jabbar, Magic, Bird, Russel, Dr. J, Cousy...etc...all fighting for #2 and I wouldn't argue with anyone who ranks those dudes in any particular order, so long as 23 is #1, cuz it's not even debatable

Knights. Wow.
Was hoping the 8th seed Panthers would make a series of it.

Heard this bit of trivia....

Of the 4 major sports (MLB, NFL, NBA & NHL), who is the lone best athlete to go undrafted?
Wayne Gretzky
He was never drafted in the NHL because he went to the WHA, which was absorbed by the NHL.

Was wondering of your opinions?
Blackhawks signed Corey Perry.
The guy is 38 years-old, seems to take a lot of SOG (with little to show for it). And last season he racked up almost 100 penalty minutes (which comes as no suprpise to me).
Given his age, not a big fan of this signing.

Not bad to help with experience on our young team and protecting bedard. I’m not sure I’d sign him as a piece to compete for titles, but I doubt we are there yet and it’s only a 1 year contract.

Someone who was a star to mentor Bedard, good signing.
Someone you are counting on to produce as a top six, bad signing.

Perry always struck me as the kind of selfish player who'd rather be chippy (when the refs weren't watching) than just play. The irony was that Perry didnt need to be chippy - he had tons of talent.

Bedard doesnt need a guy like that as a mentor imo. Plenty of other aging stars that dont play like Perry if the Hawks are signing "mentors."

I think its more of protection vs mentorship. Other similar style players might give 2nd thought to getting chippy with Bedard knowing CHI brought in guys willing to give it back. If you aren't planning on being a playoff team coming off pick 1.01 you want Bedard to avoid as many hits and cheap shots as possible these first few seasons while they build around him.

I don't follow NHL draft classes but I'd imagine another top 8 pick would give you a nice foundation to work off.

Perry if an absolute force on any serious playoff contender as a 4th liner when the chips are down.....so for now a very academic unnecessary signing
