A kid who played in the USHL & currently playing College hockey is the captain of Team Canada. Is this a first? Very cool.

Interesting. That may very well be a 1st. Speaking of which, Team USA captain Jason Zucker is a native of Las Vegas. I can't help but also wonder if that is a 1st.

Visentin ventilated by Sweden last night in the final tune-up game. I still feel uneasy about him between the pipes.

No Justin Faulk for team USA this year.
Rutherford will not let him go, says too valuable to leave the 'Canes right now.

Sorry kid.

Well it's only fair since he didn't let Skinner play for Canada either. Did you know he is still eligible to play in this tournament?

Agreed. Yet at the same time, I don't think I'd be happier for anyone than I him if Canada ends up winning Gold. I'd love to see him prove all his doubters (myself included) wrong.

I was pretty happy to see that western Pennsylvania had four players elected to team USA. I know that is a first for the region.

Faulk and Schwartz were both drafted by the Tri-City Americans but didn't report to the team. The Americans already have the best record so far in the WHL. Imagine how good they'd be if those guys had reported.
