I figured I would just post the name and see how long it would take for some contract/cap guru to rip me a new one.
The team will struggle without a decent QB regardless of whether or not they get a quality RB. Romo's injury has devastated the team.No thanks. Teams are stacking the box with weeden in there. Forte won't fix things. That butler play could have been there all night if he did not pull hamstring.
The 2nd rounder is out of the question. A 4th rounder, provided the Bears pay part of his salary would work for me. He still has itTo trade for Forte isn't a cap problem unless you are worried about the carry over into next year - he will eat up a lot of the excess cap we have right now. He is in the last year of his contract and pending Hardy's ultimate cap hit based on the incentives he hits, we can likely fit Forte without doing anything. Signing him long term is a cap problem because it's the same thing we had with Murray and believe what you want, but the main reason we didn't sign Murray was the cap. So, why give up a 2nd rounder and pay Forte $7M this year and then give him $40M going forward? He's not better than Murray except for on 3rd down and Murray wouldn't have cost us a 2nd rounder.
If we were at full strength then yes. Romo out 5 more. DEz who knows. I don't think you do that. Just my opinion.
