I am?
I am not sure sending tough guys out to fight non fighters at the end of the game has a place like at the end of the Habs-Bruins game.
Boychuk going after Spacek who just couldnt back away fast enough.
Thornton going after Hamrlik is real fair.
McQuaid going after a prone Pacioretty with 35 seconds left was pretty stupid.
I guess it was 'to send a message' but the Bruins had won the game and already pushed the Habs around, I think the message was sent.
Also if Moen grabs an unwilling Ryder and starts hitting him I am not sure that really sends a message.
I see your point, but you can only poke a stick at a dog so many times before it bites back. I thought it was telling when after that game, some Habs writers and bloggers were wondering if they need to toughen up the team.
In the Bruins/Habs case, they are playing for the division lead, seem to face each other in the playoffs about once every three years or so, this was just part of the perpetual tug of war that the rivalry has.
