Maybe I'm a naive romantic, but given the NHL's official site doesn't have anything about the game on the site, a week after basically setting up a live feed for the Thomas/Price goalie fight, they don't seem very happy about this. Thinking back to Boulerice, Chris Simon, Downie when he first came into the league, and Chris Simon again, they don't seem to hesitate to throw the book at AHL goons. I think Martin is done for the year, I think Godard gets his 10 games, and Bylsma gets a game. I can see Gillies getting something like Cooke's 4 because the hit was illegal, but it was still a hockey play, not a vicious attack. At least until Tangradi hit the ice. That's where I can see the suspension doubles to 8, maybe even up to 10.

In any case, with how the mass media is going to rip the NHL to shreds, they have to drop the hammer on this game.

Yeah, I do. As I recall, he was given a penalty. A slash isn't a big deal, I'm not calling for Tavares' head (at the time I thought he broke him, so therefore I was...), just saying the pxp guys were sort of jubilant about it. Not that Steiggy is any better...he's just a moron though.

That may have been a bit late, but no contact with the head. The injury was caused by the whiplash effect and contact with the ice.

That was a rough one too. Still no contact with the head. Can't tell if he got stick on puck at any point. I mean, Letang got a game misconduct for that, and I believe the call was elbow.

Meh, it's 2 months away. Stuff like this rarely seems to carry over more than a week.

Although, if it means the Isles are completely drained for the following day, or the Penguins fall into an unenviable 1st round playoff matchup, I'm all for it.
