I didnt see any Pens fans cheering or condoning what Cooke does, that is an asshole move...

to be fair we had a guy pull a cooke move against washington at the beggining of the season and he found his way to the minors following that game.organizations need to step up when disciplining players as well.

Well the league has suspended him time & time again. He still hasn't gotten the message.

Regarding the hit on Tyutin he said that he wouldn't put himself in a postion to get hit like that. Tyutin was two to three feet from the boards & Cooke took advantage of the opportunity. I think he'd do it again if he had the chance.

Did Cooke play tonight? Am I in the wrong game thread? Why is he relevant? He's a dirty player, and currently suspended.

He is still one player, and I dont think anything he has done compares to the garbage the Isles pulled tonight. But whatever, there still wasnt a Pens fan on here excited and cheering.

Great. This won't be Tangradi's first concussion either. He suffered one in March 2010.

You know what I'm really excited about 9-3 SCOREBOARD baby. Our 5th string goalie won his second consecutive game in two nights.

All the other stuff is just gravy.

I'm watching the replay on FSN, and they just showed the Talbot hit on Comeau. First reaction to it: a bit late, could be considered blindside, probably unnecessary, but I can see why the refs and the league didn't call a penalty or fine/suspend Talbot. I can understand both sides to the dirty vs. clean argument.

This is what gets me, if a Pens fan were here shit after they played a game as dirty as the Isles tonight we would get crucified. A win is a win so be it, but the diplayed your team put on should embarass and true NHL fan.

Understandable from your perspective. I mean, in the long run, how important is it to the Isles if chumps like Gillies, Martin, or Hayley are in the lineup? Not at all.

It was borderline. As I said earlier, worthy of squaring up Talbot, or maybe a little shove in the back, but not of a blind sucker punch. Nothing's worthy of that.

EDIT: And what gets me angry about this incident is this: Sure, it didn't cause an injury to Max because Martin didn't land as bad of a punch, but the intent was clearly to inflict injury. There's no other intent to such an action.

I dont know I've seen allot of pens fans defend cooke for doing just as bad if not worse not to mention goddard coming off the bench as a second man into a fight isnt anything to be proud of either.I'm nuetral and i'll be the first to say it goes both ways.

My problem with Talbot is Martin let him know he wanted to fight & Talbot should have known someone was going to want to fight him. Instead he tried to skate away & went down to the ice without even being hit.

A goon going after the goalie who just injured a player with his elbow and then was punching him while he is on the ice? What do you expect? I am not proud of any part of this game but that appeared to be necessary. I dont know where all these Pens fans are, I certainly havent seen them on SportsHoopla.

So the could have hit him on the ice, not a real reason to sucker punch him.

If you're talking about the Martin incident, it didn't look like Martin ever said anything to Talbot or did anything to offer a fair fight. He just threw off the gloves and went at it.

It looked to me like Martin said something to him. I'll check it again.

There's nothing written or unwritten that says you have to fight when asked.

You can't defend a sucker punch. Sorry. He's not even saying anything in that video shot. Does a double take, sees the number, grazes him with his stick, Talbot doesn't even look his direction, and he attacks him.

If the goalie doesnt want to go he has the right to leave his mask on to be honest I would have more respect for the guy taking a dive or turtling than a goon coming off the bench and throwing punches at an already engaged man. Goddard also didnt need to throw repeated sucker punches in order to protect his goalie he could have just as easily restrained the man.to me what Goddard did was worse than the sucker punch on Talbot

Wow. The Isles guy is laughing in the background of that clip. Classy. Martin even takes a shot or two while he's down.

I agree for the most part, but the difference was that one thing happened during a scrum/dead play on the ice, the other happened during play. Regardless, both are bad plays.
