Interesting. If the prospect coming back were a decent MI, would the G's be willing to eat a decent chunk of his 6M?

so much for that news:

3:59pm: DeRosa is headed to the DL, according to Andrew Baggarly of the San Jose Mercury News (on Twitter). Though the repaired tendon in his wrist is fine, the area around it is inflamed. If the Marlins are going to make a run at DeRosa, it probably won't happen for a few weeks at least.

You know, I fucking HATE it when Foolish Foolsense ends up being right. His predictions are 90% shit, but that 10% gives him fuel to continue to make pronouncements.

OTOH, we'll need a reserve IF now.....I'd prefer Gonzalez to Burriss.

But Gonzo would need to be added to the 40-man, and Burriss gives us another Ford off the bench.

And he is actually hitting in Fresno this year (.344 / .423 / .426 / .849)

I know this is really unlikely to happen, but man if Burriss can just hit .260/.310, could he push Tejada to the bench and bat leadoff?

:pray2:

True, and he's swiping bags at a high rate. OK, bring up Manny.

Not with a 310 OBP. To bat leadoff, he'd need to be in the .330 range at least. Heck, RoRo is there now. Andy Towers is .375.

Nope, Burris gets called up until DeRo is off the DL (if ever!!). Then, it's back to Fresno for his AAA ass.

What do you think we would have gotten for him?
