Barron and Rambo are the only two safeties with 1st Round grades and its highly probable one will end up on the Bengals roster next year. Prior to the season my vote would have been for Barron to be the pick but after watching Rambo I'm not so certain anymore. He reminds me alot of Ed Reed and could be a difference maker in our secondary for years to come. With that said which of the two prospects would you prefer to have if the Bengals opt for a safety?

neither in the first. I hope they go OG then CB. Barron is a good football player but we already have enough safetys that are strong v the run. Not even sure those guys have a place in todays NFL. No ballhawking safety that I see worth taking in the 1st. I like Rambo's name though.

It would be stupid for a supposed Bengals fan to actually discuss the Bengals.

This spam should be deleted.

We need a coverage safety, not another guy who plays the run, but gets burned once a game.

I have not watched Rambo play, so I would have to defer to somebody who has. However, I really think I'd prefer a CB and G in the 1st round.

My choice would be

1st- Mark Barron S 6'1½" 223 Alabama
1st- David Decastro OG 6'4½" 313 Stanford
2nd- Montee Ball RB 5'11" 214 Wisconsin
3rd- Casey Hayward CB 5'11⅛" 185 Vanderbilt
3rd (Comp)- Jeff Fuller WR 6'3¾" 217 Texas A&M

I want a shutdown, speedy corner early. It's the biggest need on the team.

You have to realize the Bengals will be selecting in the early 20's so that means Morris Claiborne, Dre Kirkpatrick, Alfonzo Dennard and Janoris Jenkins will all probably be off the board. So that means the team would have to overdraft players such as Chase Minnifield, Brandon Boykin or Stephon Gilmore all players with late 1st - early 2nd Round grades and who are not worth drafting that high. This is a deep draft for CB's and the drop off in potential is not that great from the aforementioned mentioned players and Trumaine Johnson, Ryan Steed or Casey Hayward all players that could be had in the late 2nd to early 3rd. Grap the best players available at Safety, OG and RB then come back and get a CB in the 3rd to maximize the most value.

I'm pretty sure Rambo belongs in the Jungle. It would make a sick edition to my jersey collection.

If the value isn't right, then it changes, but it's too early to know who is going to go when.

It's early but I think there is a good chance of Denard or Jenkins (or both) being available with the Bengals 2nd first round pick.

1A: DeCastro OG and one of the best linemen in the draft. period.
1B: Jenkins (maybe the best cover corner that slips to character concerns).

If the corners are gone I'd look at a DT before a SS.

1A: DeCastro
1B: Brandon Thompson DT Clemson

It is too early. Especially with this team a win away from the playoffs. So many factors are still at play it's almost comical to start thinking about the draft at this point.

In fact, it's not comical...it's sad and stupid. Let's focus on now for a change, eh?

If we pick a DT in the 1st I am going to be majorly pissed. Our needs go as followed:

1. OG
2. CB
3. S
4. RB
5. OG
6. S

I'd even say DE over DT because Dunlap can't stay healthy and Geathers blows.

I want a S but not a run stuffing one.

Why? Peko is solid but overrated by Bengals fans. Atkins is great but a bit undersized. Sims has his moments but is pretty much just a big body. A stud DT to add with Atkins and Peko makes that D-line one of the best in the game.

Because we have much more pressing needs than DT. You keep taking Dunlap of that line and we have Rucker (blows), Fanene (eh), Geathers (horrible), Johnson (has flashes but isn't great). Our DT's are in much better shape than that. Yes Sims is a FA after this year but we will be cheap to bring back. Peko is a solid #2 DT and Atkins is becoming a dominant DT. I'm fine with picking one in the 3rd but in no way should we waste a 1st on a DT when we have so many more pressing needs in 2 OG's, a CB, at least 1 S, and a RB.

Gotta agree. We could use DT depth but don't need to draft a starter, so I'd rather not use a high pick there.

Exactly. You don't pick for depth sake in the fist 2 rounds.

I think if you add a DT that can make plays though (not just a depth guy...that would be a bust i.e. Rivers pick in the 1st) that whole D gets better. S is a huge need but there's not a guy worth taking in the first. RB is a huge need but Richardson is the only back that I'd draft in the first (not sure how much separation there is from LaMar Miller to David Wilson, Polk etc). Honestly, I'd love to double dip on OG"s in the first round with DeCastro and Glenn but know that's not happening. So all that considered they NEED to come out of the 1st with and OG. that's priority 1. I'd say corner is 2 after that they have bigger needs but there are no players at the positions that warrant that high of a pick.
