Also, he "graduated" in the spring term with a Geneal Science major.
He "excelled" at bio engineering courses and has "worked hard" to get his degree so he can focus on football for his RS JR year.
I thought you had to be a full time student in order to play football??
Graduated or not.
No.
Remember Matt Leinart's last year at SC? Of course you do.
Well his lone class was ballroom dancing for the fall term.
Not all student athletes take the easy way out. I know many Oregon students have like anywhere else.
Love or hate Oregon, but Mariota is a very well rounded guy who actually takes pride in his "education".

Current Student Eligibility requirements
Remaining Eligible: Academics | NCAA Public Home Page - NCAA.org
In Division I, student-athletes must complete 40 percent of the coursework required for a degree by the end of their second year. They must complete 60 percent by the end of their third year and 80 percent by the end of their fourth year. Student-athletes are allowed five years to graduate while receiving athletically related financial aid. All Division I student-athletes must earn at least six credit hours each term to be eligible for the following term and must meet minimum grade-point average requirements that are related to an institution’s own GPA standards for graduation.
1. He is at least 80 percent to his degree. He is a redshirt Junior so this is his 4th year, so he only needed to be 60%.
2. He took at least two classes for six credit hours last term
3. His GPA is 3.15
He is eligible to play.
Good for him to have put in the time and effort in the classroom in previous seasons to allow him to take an easy semester now.
