Well the M's severe lack of clutchness bites them in the ass tonight. Chalk up another game in the "lost but should have won" column. Awful loss.

Adding to those insane numbers with the bases loaded.

0-3 in the last 2 innings. Cruz and Haniger both struck out with the pitcher only throwing 1 strike...which Cruz watched.

you guys are a great read in the morning. there will be several games this year we lose when we should win and win when they probably don't deserve it. that's baseball

Yeah you have to take a step back and realize they were due a loss like this. Niscaiso and Diaz were due a clunker. More specifically a 1 run loss. The only real frustration on my end is that Ichiro batted in the 9th. This charade needs to end

I said that the minute they said he was coming in. Diaz is not the same guy when he doesn't have a lead.

This shit drives me nuts. Closers have a different make up vs the rest of the relievers plus he didn't need the extra work unless Seattle got the lead back. Just a horrible move.

I agree with this if the M's had the make up of the Red Sox, Yankees, or Astros. Those teams can afford to lose a few games like this cause they're well solid built teams and are almost shoe-ins for post season play. The M's are not built like them and need to close out these teams when having a late lead. These give away games is what could determine the M's getting in the post season or left out of it again.

never said they could afford to do it. just saying it was bound to happen and will assuredly happen again this year. they will likely have a few walk off wins that they were dogshit for 8 innings this year as well.

I never said you said that, just stating an opinion of mine.

What a disappointment last night. We needed that win BIG TIME. Tonight we're screwed. The A's pitcher will stick it to us with the way our offense clocked in last night. Agree with most posts from last night-especially about Ichiro not being PH. It is Oakland we're playing and with Paxton tossing a gem last night we certainly should have left this game with a W. I guess it's not a surprise that our offense is inconsistent. Nothing to write home about with Anderson's pitching or their pen's pitcher either. Just one of those losses we better get used to. So it goes.

Here’s the issue you must consider tho. Who else do you trust in that spot? Outside of Nicasio and Diaz the pen has been mediocre at best. I disagree with Servais’ pitching changes frequently but I think he played it right yesterday

But we're suppose to have one of the best pens in the league, at least that's what we've been told by our A-rated FO. I understand where you're coming from, just annoyed losing games like this inside the division.

Looks like I missed a whopper last night.

Hate to piss away a win, but it’s only 1 of 162. Can’t keep doing this, but this is life as a Mariners Ace so a loss like this isn’t surprising.
