I know but you are proving my point of it being educated guesses. I’m not trying to give cover for ownership, all I was saying to be fair. As in jest in case you haven’t gotten my sarcasm on the ownership groupit's just as easy to plug the numbers in for a calendar year. if you do all 2023 numbers: $363 million in revenue, $145 million in operating costs, and $140 million in payroll, then you get profit in the high $70s. there's not much room to hide with the revenue sharing model in place, and revenue is the key number here unless you think they're lying or hiding salary and have wildly different operating costs than they report.
I am so confused on how they organize their front office. How many positions now are directly related to business/financing? It’s like they now have 3 separate entities, they got the baseball side, business side and marketing side and nothing linking them together. Seems like such a waste of money and a cluster f with who’s in charge of what.Seattle Mariners Promote Long-Time Executive to New Role
The MLB offseason officially began on Thursday on the heels of the Los Angeles Dodgers winning their eighth World Series title after a 7-6 win against the New York Yankees.www.yardbarker.com
I’m not trying to say anything is way off, I’m just going off of what was said about the Forbes article and the MLBPA with how they always talk about the owners cooking their books especially whenever the CBA negotiations start happening.i think i figured out what wazzu is talking about. mlb doesn't disclose the exact amount each team gets from revenue sharing. it's supposed to be used primarily for team improvement, and mlb supposedly monitors it, but there have been plenty of articles talking about how teams maybe don't use it how it's supposed to be used. the pirates org was scrutinized for this pretty heavily recently regarding how much of revenue sharing $$$$ they were putting into player salary.
the numbers that people who put these charts together are local revenue only, and again, the numbers are required. the m's like every other club put 48% of local revenue back into the pool, but unless it's a top market team like the dodgers or yanks (who put a shitload back into their teams anyway), the total revenue for teams goes way up since it includes national revenue alloted by mlb with it's $11.2 billion in revenue reported last year.
They realize marketing is just as important as the other two because they have the pulse on how to fool the masses. It is the true money maker.I am so confused on how they organize their front office. How many positions now are directly related to business/financing? Well, at least the Cubs got it done in 2016! M’s have NEVER been to a World Series let alone won one … Only team in baseball to never get to a World Series, and man, every time they start heading in the right direction this origination $&@@&’s it up … It’s maddening …gurantee you they have,nt broken your heart like the cubs do yearly mine since 1969.
I'd like to congratulate Polanco in advance for his upcoming 27 HR, 90 RBI, comeback player of the year award in 2025.In other words, Mariners save $17M.
