I might be beating a dead horse, but what do the Mariners do with Taylor Trammel?

Mariners are already set with Kelenic, Lewis and Haniger in the outfield. Even if we were to hypothetically trade or put Haniger at the DH role, Julio will be in the majors sooner rather than later. I really don't see a spot for him.

I, for once in Mariners history, hope they wait to see if this really does become a real problem by having too many productive OF's.

That is the kind of balancing act though isn’t? Haniger has to have an extension by the end of this year doesn’t he? Then the way it is looking is both Rodriguez’ are going to be moving up the ladder and whoever this DeLoach dude is seems he is on the rise too.

Honestly these things tend to work themselves out. Someone will get hurt, someone will underperform, etc. I stand by not trading Haniger as well.

Haniger has one more arb year and hits free agency in 2023.

I thought I read that maybe this off-season he is suppose to get a huge pay raise? I can’t remember exactly how the article phrased it but basically made it sound like he had to return to All Star form in order to return next year.

There are only three options.

-Trade Haniger now and give him the rest of the year to sink or swim.
-Do something with France, either make him the 2B or trade because you are forcing Haniger to become the DH.
-Just designate him as the 4th OF. He does not have the upside that Lewis, Kelenic and JRod have so will not get the rope that those 3 have. Play him play like how Dylan Moore and Lopes were last year where he can be vital to the team in terms of giving time off for any of the 3 OF spots and can be valuable at the end of the game in any fashion.

I’d rather him come in and pitch than Montero.

Yeah I completely agree with you its a long season the odds that all 3 of them finish the season without missing any extended period of time isnt likely. Besides Trammel really does need to work on his approach the amount of strikeouts he had was crazy which played a part in Kelenic being called up. Now Kelenic if you take away his home run game he is hitting 1-21 so if he keeps this up for the month of June do we look to send him back down?
