2nd inning: gives up bunt single then triple for 4th run of game LOL. The defense sounds like a little league team, announcer said the cutoff guy has dropped the ball twice already and sometimes they flat out miss the cutoff.

Final line on Yarbrough: 4IP, 7H, 5ER, 7K's, 2 walks. In the fourth inning he struck out 3 guys I believe but one of them reached on a wild pitch then he came around to score.

This kid is on his way. He should never be a huge power guy in the majors but it certainly shows he is starting to master the art of hitting at AAA. He is showing a lot of progression at the plate. Marte has certainly exceeded my expectations at the plate the last couple seasons.

I have an awfully depressing hypothetical scenario that I could see happening to the Mariners, you know cause they are the Mariners: Marte ends up becoming the best SS out of three (Miller/Taylor being he other 2). But he will become the best for a different team because we will use him at the trade deadline to strengthen the team. Included in the trade will be Jesus Montero whom will become the next Edgar Martinez.

One good thing about how poorly Jack has constructed the big league roster is there isn't a lot of wiggle room when it comes to making deals without having to DFA a few guys. If a trade to improve the roster is going to happen it is almost certainly going to have to involve Taylor/Miller, Ackley and Austin Jackson. Trading Marte and Montero can't really strengthen the big league club without creating a roster spot which they don't have.

This is true although it does depend on what the trade would be. There are ways they could make it work or make sense in the mind of Jack Z.

I wouldn't trade the kid. I rally like when he brings to the field. Plus range and glove and speed on the bases. Little power which is just fine, but who could hit for average .275 ish.

He isn't ready defensively. Watched him a little in ST and a little on Milbtv. The earliest I would want to see him get a call up is next season at some point. Actually when I watch him play defense I often think he is best suited for 2nd base. Funny because before he started being looked at as a top prospect I kept hearing him being billed as a defense first guy.

I am shocked he got hurt!!! He is usually very durable.
