The whole.exit vilasity..thing makes me sick. This is about all the Seattle local media will be talking about tomorrow. Exit velocity and how many feet he hit that. Without addressing the real issue.
Yeah..that's right..6 years..for..he..guysNormally I say take player available, but I agree with what you are saying. More high school kids put all our top prospects in the 18-21 range which is 3-5 years away minimum. I would love to see some 24-25 year old top prospects right now.
My biggest concern with Julio is it seems pitchers have figured that pitching him inside seems to work pretty well. He'll either take, swing and miss or hit a grounder to the left side.Julio K's with the bags packed. Not even a swing on strike 3 ( a check half ass swing )
He is one of the least clutch hitters on the team.
He NEVER is in a hitters count it seems. He is constantly 0-2 or 1-2 in the count. Zero discipline to lay off balls off the plate and will stand there and take 2 strikes without swinging and go down 0-2 then start waving at shit off the plate
I do not get it. His numbers will drop year to year as pitchers keep making adjustments on him and soon he will be a J Kelenic circa 2022.
Am I the only one who thinks that would be a waste of our minor league assets?I read the M’s are in talks with the Padres about trading for Snell. No idea if true, but also as great as it would be to get him, they need 2 big bats.
I commented on here multiple times how he swings at stuff so far inside he is likely to have a hand injury couple times a season ( missed time last year same thing )My biggest concern with Julio is it seems pitchers have figured that pitching him inside seems to work pretty well. He'll either take, swing and miss or hit a grounder to the left side.
The 'book' on Julio is:My biggest concern with Julio is it seems pitchers have figured that pitching him inside seems to work pretty well. He'll either take, swing and miss or hit a grounder to the left side.
The 'book' on Julio is:
a) bust him inside off the plate with fastballs - Yes he will swing at those
b) throw the slider off the plate low and away - Yes he will also swing hopelessly at most of those
c) by the 6-7th inning and 2 or 3 K's for the night, His mind is a dumpster fire and the pitcher can tube shot a few fastballs right over the plate early in the count and Julio will just stand there and watch them.
This is why I hate the new age philosophy of launch angle and the Ivy League version of analytics.Did I read it right that all their runs scored last 2 days were HRs?
So it’s all or nothing eh? My god.
I'm not anti-derby and our players should be on the big stage (all-star game) when they've earned it but no one on this team has earned anything. All of them should take the time off, relax, rework their approach like you said and try to flip the switch in the second half.I didn't say that because I didn't want to start an anti-derby argument. But you are 100% right. I hate these derby's with our guys in it. Nothing good comes from them but player recognition. I would rather he take the time off and rework his approach.
Listened to the London game this morning . A-Rod said he would not teach his kids launch angle but how to not strike out .This is why I hate the new age philosophy of launch angle and the Ivy League version of analytics.
