Chen has had 21 starts this year and has only gone more than 7 innings twice...both in his last 2 starts and both of course are against the M's.

Logan Morrison started off strong after coming back and taking over Smoak's spot, but I think that Smoak may be deserving of his 1B spot back.

In July, Logan Morrison is hitting .180/.213/.270 with 1 HR and 7 RBI. Whereas Justin Smoak has hit .340 over his last 13 games in AAA. Smoak may not be a huge upgrade, but at least he can probably keep it above the Mendoza line.

If neither one is going to hit which is basically whats happening you might as well have the better defender over there which is Smoak. Neither one is the future so hopefully that is something addressed in the offseason. Tired of getting nothing out of the 1B/DH spots.

The one thing I like about having Smoak in there rather than Hart/Morrison (outside of his defense of course), is even when he makes an out he'll at least take some pitches and make the pitcher work

Baseball is a slow game. Sometimes I'll go to the bathroom come back to the kitchen grab a beer and it'll still be the same at bat. With Hart sometimes you look down at your phone to check a message and look up and he's already struck out lol

I never thought I'd see the day when Ackley would be carrying the team along with Seager and Cano for any length of time. Great to see him doing well.
