former Marussia test driver found dead

This was the woman who had that freak accident last year in the UK: I'm wondering if some lingering after-effect of that crash was to blame?

Yes Indy. The article states that the autopsy revealed that neurological damage she sustained in the crash continued to degrade her neurological functioning which contrinuted to her death. Apparently similar to what they are finding in football playerspost-mortem that had too many concussions during their playing days!
