Welcome to the West Coast version of the "factory of disappointment" - you really know how to pick em. At least no-one will call you a front runner. I usually have a local rooting interest in the team, but man are they tough to watch.

Tennessee blew it. I wish him luck, but Tennessee had a chance to really build this team quickly. They had a QB already or could have snatched one later in the draft if not sure of Mettenberger. Mariota's another over rated college kid, but good for him at getting the big bucks for being the 2nd pick. Save and invest wisely Mariota because you won't be around long. Fortunate for him he played in a league that doesn't believe in defense. When confronted with a good defensive college team, he stumbled and bumbled his way thru the game. Like Matt Leinart, this guy will stumble through 3-4 disappointing years trying to stay on the field and then retire quietly with a fat bank account.

Whisenhunt is good with QBs but comparing Roethlisalphabet to Mariota like like comparing motor oil to vegetable oil. Yes they are both QBs but the way they play the game is completely different. Ben uses his size to shed tackles and extend plays, Mariota doesn't have the body mass to do that he uses his mobility to make people miss. If the Coaches in TN let Marcus sit behind Mettenberger for a year I think he can take over and be good.

Yeah. They would have gotten way more value by trading down and selecting multiple first round talents while building the team around Mettenberger. If I was Mettenberger, I'd be pissed off.
