@Skin'EmAll said we likely don't lose to Baltimore or Pittsburgh with Higgins and Lattimore on the roster.

@Stymietee said They don't lose to Philly either with those two on board.

A 10-1 squad with the only loss to the Bucs then with Higgins n Lattimore eh.

Impressive.
Higgins would have been the difference maker as I'm not sure what Lattimore gives them against the run which ultimately cost the Ravens, Eagles games.

They had opportunities to outscore Philly who scored two late TDs to pull away late.
They lost to the Steelers by one point, 28-27 (Higgins makes the difference)
They lost to Baltimore by 7 points because they settled for FGs instead of TDs (Higgins makes the difference)

Tee Higgins has had 5 catches for 40 yards and has scored 2 touchdowns in 1 game against the Eagles in his career.

Tee Higgins has had 32 catches for 575 yards and has scored 3 touchdowns in 6 games against the Steelers in his career.

Tee Higgins has had 41 catches for 497 yards and has scored 6 touchdowns in 8 games versus the Ravens in his career.

Let's hope so, or better yet hope that JD gets with a supermodel who makes far more than he does, you know, like Brady.

Btw; those "lesser" contracts came later in his career.

Tom Brady's first NFL contract was a three-year, $866,500 deal with the New England Patriots. The contract included a signing bonus of $38,500 and an average annual salary of $288,833. Brady was a sixth-round pick in the 7th round

Brady's salary increased to seven figures in 2002 after leading the Patriots to their first Super Bowl win. He went on to sign eight more contracts with the Patriots, often restructuring his deals to take less money and help the team. Brady's career earnings from his 20 seasons in New England were $235,166,804.

Even when he made 7 figures, it was half of what the top QBs were making.

Having wife worth 350+ million n making 40 million a year. Might've made it a tad easier for Brady to take less cheddar.
Yeah but most every player in that position has already made generational money, more than they will ever spend. A contract is how they keep score more than the actual dollar amount they receive. Brady was the only professional athlete I have ever heard of who willingly took less money to help the team acquire better players and he deserves props for that regardless of his situation.

As for Higgins I'd be fine either way. This team simply needs more A players and he is certainly that.

You guys realize that Quinyon Mitchell had no passes thrown in his direction by the Skins (sorry Commanders does not sit well with me as their name), the week before CD Lamb caught 5 passes for 26 yards against Mitchell. On the other side, you have Cooper Dejean, who is playing very close to the same level as Mitchell. Finally, the Eagles have CB's that can play.
If I remember correctly Terry McLaurin, who always kills the Eagles had 1 catch for 5 yards. Who knows, next time he may go off on them (hope not).

Maybe true for football but Michael Jordan took much less salary because he was making a killing in endorsements.

I looked into this. In '98 with the Bulls Jordan made $33 million. Then he retired a year later and his salary went to $1 Million when he joined the Bullets in 2001 as an executive which is obviously not the same as a player.

During the 3peat years he made 4 mill a year tops from the Bulls I believe.

do lattimore and higgins put us in the superbowl this year ? if not then that is the reason you dont overpay in resources (and possibly contract too ) to do that when you can assess the options at the end of the season . besides that you can only get one of them in real life this year . add to it BOTH were injured (one still is ) those 3 games injured for hill would have been vs the steelers and i think ravens (not sure about that one )

Yes they would. We get past Detroit due to untimely injuries and lose the superbowl to the ravens. Now based on your pattern, you would tell the board, ok we made it to the superbowl but lost it, adding Higgins was a waste

What inspired this post? Quinyon Mitchell has been as advertised. Although Daniels looked bad, I'm sure Mitchell gets credit for containing Terry too.

@Stymietee n @Skin'EmAll

I thought the team W/O Latimore n Higgins could've won the Ravens n Steelers games. At 7-4 the Skins have the opportunity to finish the season strong somewhat controlling where they end up and if Philly stumbles who knows.

I agree. I think when we lose in the divisional playoff round, folks will see why having Higgins would have made a difference.

also i believe the addition of Lattimore and possibly Higgins too, will give us freedom in the draft. There's a kid from OSU that's supposedly cut from the same cloth as the latest ohio state wrs, there's some linemen that look good. Then there's some corner that are all out for the year that may slip to us. Next year, we could be dominant

Agreed!!
Btw; I've already predicted the second Philly game as the one for the division lead and the last Dallas game to clinch the division title.

I completely agree with you!!
I think that the Baltimore and Pittsburgh games highlighted the need for a go-to WR1 type and you're not wrong about it being seen again in a playoff game.
@dad and I just have different approaches to the same end. His a more conservative one and my own more aggressive because these window come and go quickly.

Maybe they do. No one has said to over pay. All we hope is that did their due diligence, which I’m sure they did. Would have loved to have him here, but only if the deal made sense.

to get both it would take gutting the draft which precludes adding anything more next year . add to it Tee wasnt on the market tee can make that difference next year

I didn't find his previous salaries but I do remember he took below market for a lot of years, then got the big contract I had mentioned I guess as a payday to make up for the loss. But that he to be in the contact, no way the Jerrys would do that out of the goodness of their heart.

So now we have 2 examples in all of history in all professional sports in American, as those 2 are the GOATS.
