The inherinate problem which America has been dealing with for a loooooong time is that people who benefit from a Corrupt system won't look crictically at the Corrupt system.

You're right. So schools have benefited from large TV $$$ from the consolidation of the ESP5N Cartel and the corrupt system. Yes that would absolutely would change if All FBS teams had equal access to Legit NC Playoff.

But just because everyone has access doesn't mean you'll get less. That is known as the Fix Pie Fallacy.

Access and Competition makes the Pie Bigger

I don't agree with your defining the problem as "corrupt." Not being perfect does not make it corrupt. I think it does a fine job establishing a champion, and providing a fantastic experience each year that millions highly enjoy. They'll tweak it here and there, but it works fine for the most part.

And Bama still can't produce Top QBs like UCF has in only 22 year of FBS football.

How many has Vandy and Arkansas and UK, and USCe produced?

BTW I'm calling BS on your stats

#UCFacts
what top QBs has UCF produced? Other than Culpepper, the only ones I can think of have bombed at the NFL level, and even Culpepper wasn’t that great.

This isn't corrupt to you?

He runs one amateur football game per year. He makes more than $1 million.

" Jim McVay, a sports executive who for the past 30 years has run the Outback Bowl, a second-tier college football postseason game featuring third-place teams.

The hefty paychecks enjoyed by bowl bosses long have been viewed by economists as a sign of exploitation in a sport played by amateurs. But even among this coterie of well-paid executives, McVay’s compensation — $1,045,000 in 2017, according to the bowl’s most recent tax filing — ranks as extreme, according to a review of bowl financial records and interviews with industry experts.

McVay, a former Buccaneers marketing executive and uncle to Los Angeles Rams Coach Sean McVay, was the highest-paid bowl executive in the country in 2017, the most recent year financial records are available, even though his organization’s revenue that year — $11.9 million — ranked 10th among bowl organizations. While several bowl bosses manage other games or major events, McVay’s core duties remain as focused as they were when he took the job in 1988: negotiate contracts and sell sponsorships and tickets for one football game each year.

How does it work when it does not spell out what beats given known results until a committee votes on it? G5 teams have no blueprint for contending for a playoff spot and this is purposeful because P5 teams don't want to provide a fair opportunity.

Exactly ... I don't care about the G5. They should split off and create their own playoffs among teams that are more aligned with lesser budgets and athletes. Then they can have a fair chance at winning a NC.

LOL, you have Daunte Culpepper....who do you want to hang your hat on after that, Blake Bortles? LOL.

My BAD, you had 32 draft picks, not 30, LOL, apparently that makes it bullshit...

List of Alabama Crimson Tide players in the NFL draft - Wikipedia

It's not my fault if you UCfacts are UCfucked...

Hey, it's not like y'all suck or that your Jolsten rings aren't made out of real metal. 2017 UCF could be competitive with some of Saban's Alabama teams, 2007 for instance....just not any of the good ones.

Enjoy your #UCFantasy as long as you can though, reality's a harsh bitch.

Oh weeee, I like these brain busters!!!!

UCF should have been and was playing for the NC the last 2 years because..... drum roll.... because.. wait for it.... because we won our Conference. All NCAA sanctioned NCs, and all American Professional sports have a Legit Playoff where if you win your division, conference, league or whatever, you get in a Legit Playoff. This Legit Playoff determines A Champion.

Now, why do tshirt bandwagoners like the beauty pageant style of the Invitational? Why are tshirt bandwagoners scared of competition? Why do tshirt bandwagoners want less, not more games?

#UCFacts
are you saying that if
UConn
Kansas
Rutgers
Rice
UTEP
Central Michigan
Kent State
San Jose State
Georgia Southern
Oregon State
Arkansas
Louisville

all started a conference that the team that came out as Champions should have a shot at the NC?

If the Jaguars had a real quarterback, they would have won the super bowl. Bortles is what held them back.

Thanks for the links.

The first link, at worse discusses an arguably overpaid executive. Stop the presses ... an overpaid executive has been found! If the free market allows him to get paid that, good on him. Don't see that as being corrupt. Also, even if it were corrupt, one corrupt person, or even several , doesn't mean the system is corrupt.

The second link is to a 21 year old preview of an article. So, we have a problem looking at something where we don't have the full article, and it is 21 years old. Not sure what you are saying it says, but it seems to say by not paying players it is causing a competitive imbalance. So, not sure how it is relevant to this thread. Moreover, I am for the G5 simply going and doing their own thing. That would alleviate some of the imbalance, certainly that of which you complain.

Finally, I don't think the third link says what you think it says. It clearly articulates that your conference should break off on its own and run its own league. That, it says, would take care of the competitive imbalance. I agree with the author. The P5 and G5 should separate, and then you can compete each year for your own NC. Nowhere in that article can you find support for the idea that the P5 should somehow adjust its system to invite UCF and other lesser athletic schools to their dinner table.

Thanks for the links. The third one in particular was a good read.

Edit: if you don't want to break off, I get it. I happen to believe there are good arguments why USF and UCF would be good additions to the BigXII. That assumes you continue to fund your program, get good coaching, expand your stadium, and all the other things you have to have to be a big time football program.

The problem with any seccession idea is it closes the door for any other school to follow UCFs, Boise, Oregon’s etc football programs’ footsteps. Heck no FL football program did anything until the 1980s.

Who knows, FIU and FAU might be the most dominate CFB programs in 30 years. We know Miami hasn’t done anything in 17 years.

Seccession, segregation and separation are never good. Competition is always Good.

We just need to compete in a legit Playoff

Btw I’m still waiting on someone to define SOS.

Stats shouldn’t be hard to define.

#UCFacts
It's been answered already. You can google it. There are any number of ways to calculate it, none of which are definitive, all of which probably give varying levels of accuracy. That is why it is only part of any overall evaluation of who is deserving to be in the playoffs.

I can easily conclude UCF's schedule in your NC year was far easier than, say, Auburn. Yet, you pulled the upset and beat them which shows it is just part of the equation and that any good team can beat another on a given day, under certain circumstances. I can also say with great confidence that had you played Auburn's schedule, you wouldn't have been undefeated, and Auburn playing your schedule would have been. The difference in skill level, and most importantly depth, simply is not on the same level. But, you had a great and fun year, I am sure.

Disagree would be more accurate. What I said was my opinion. I suspect that most college football fans outside of Orlando would agree with me. But we can agree to disagree.
