Probably not, but he should be her first call, imo. At the least, I'd bet he could give her a list of guys who would be good hires as President and also as GM if she decides to let Pelinka go (which I doubt she will).

Lebron applies pressure with elevated expectations wherever he goes, but it really just seemed to be the requirements of the job altogether. He didn't really speak glowingly of Pelinka either, so there was apparently some friction there at least.

I will say this. Magic, is a coward. He runs when times gets tough. He is a great basketball player, but he isn't smart. He isn't a business man. He was good at one thing and that doesn't translate to anything else as we have clearly seen in his other endeavors. Lebron is similar. They love to blast Dan Gilbert, for the letter, but that letter was mostly spot on. In business you need class and respect, and not always take the easy way out and run. Not telling Jeanie, is a perfect example of this. Lebron and Magic are very similar in that sense. Lebron's outside of basketball moves will be mostly failures. He is not going to become a movie star, or anything else. He is good at basketball and that is about it...

He may now end up traded and going down as a journey man lol

He isn't a business man? He's made almost all of his fortune as a business man......he wasn't getting paid crazy money when he played.

What a train wreck of a thread. Magic got out because he couldn't be himself in the role. Being who he is, we would get approached to do things that ultimately got him in trouble for supposed tampering, when that was never the intent. He didn't speak to Jeanie first because he didn't want her to talk him out of his decision. He wants to go back to being an ambassador for the Lakers and the sport in general. While he IS the Lakers in so many ways, it seemed an odd hire at the time, more of a public relations move than a smart basketball move, and that played out as such. Good luck to Magic with his future endeavors, and I'm sure he'll still be around the team nearly as much as he was as president (although that wasn't enough for that role).

As far as the state of the team and Lebron, nothing really changes. Decisions on the coaching staff (and GM potentially) will be left to the new hire as they should be. Lebron is going nowhere, and they will continue to build around him as previously planned. Who that new hire would be, I have no idea. Shaq was asking for Jerry West last night, but I don't know if that's even a possibility.

True but they didn't miss the playoffs 6 years in row before KG & Ray got to Boston for the '07-'08 season. Pierce made it to the playoffs 4 of his 1st 9 years before that big trade. Not great. But not lousy.

Ask cavs fans about Pelinka. He has always been a snake. They had a hand shake deal with boozer when he was his agent and the guy snaked out of it, and moved him to the bulls. It was a bad career move anyways it turned out, but Pelinka is shady af!

I have said this before and I will say 8t again. "IMO the Lakers should have never signed Lebron, they should have rebuild from the bottom up".
