I dont think they were going to take it from him if he didnt want to ... Mike Gillis doesnt roll that way

Honestly, I dont know what difference it made in him having it or not ... he is still going to get the same questions from the vancouver media if he had it or not. He could have continued his stance from the end of last year that he wouldnt talk on game days.

the local douches will say oh not another swede ... but this guy is different than Nazzy ... I think he has the jam to talk to a fellow player if they arent pulling their weight and he has the calm poise to deal with on ice situations ... I dont think Kesler has that ... i dont even think Daniel has it

I find it pretty silly just how bent out of shape many Canucks fans were getting over him having the C. He might be a goalie, but he still deserved it IMO. I never saw it as a big deal with it. Whoever wears the C next, grats to them. But funny thing is that nothing will change. The team will still be at or near the top of the standings.

Why can't Canucks fans use the ol cliche phrase? Yeah that guy is the captain, but we have 5 guys who we could sew a C onto.

I actually expect Henrik to be given the C. I would have thought Kesler would be given some consideration but I don't enough about the team. I guess I'm looking at from the fact that Henrik is the best player on the team If he can't talk to everyone else & get them to buy in who can?

I would have looked to Kesler as captain, but I have no problem with Hank. I think Kesler's negative aspects of his game would detract.
As I recall, Hank was the one who stepped in when S.O.B. was going off on coach Bowness.

the one thing that never came across right with him being a goalie and a captain was when he talked about how the team played ... with a position player as a captain, that player can criticize the rest of his teammates performance because he is a position player and part of the criticism

with a goalie as a captain, especially in such a rabid hockey market where everthing is analyzed 6 ways to sunday, when Roberto said "we sucked tonight" or "our d werent clearing guys", everyone said he was throwing his teammates under the bus.
