Yea, now the interest is coming from the Knicks, but since the Kuzma for Rose talk is falling apart rapidly, the Knicks can only offer draft picks and maybe Randall but that trade would simply be ridiculous. I predict Kuzma will remain with the Lakers after tomorrow.

We have returned to winning games in the wake of Kobe's death. We have the best record in the west but are five games behind Milwaukee.

Meanwhile, The NTSB investigation of the crash is revealing yet another fault in the FAA's failure to take action by implementing the NTSB's recommendations to get copters fitted with early warning systems like fixed-wing aircraft as well as requiring (in a mandatory fashion) VFR pilots to be trained in IFR transitions so that these apparent needless deaths do not continue in copter flights.

Apparently, when the pilot reached that higher elevation in the 101 Northeast following the highway visually, the clouds were too low and he got into them and became disoriented when he turned unexplicably left.

He was looking for the nearby Sheriff's helipad to land when he ran into the very foothill he was trying to avoid missing clearing the foothill by a mere 30 feet.

The helipad was less than a quarter of mile from the crash site and the pilot missed it with a series of ill-fated decisions because was not IFR trained and did not know how to properly transition into IFR from VFR.

All 8 passengers died needlessly because of the slowness of the FAA to approve NTSB recommendations that have been presented to them by the NTSB for nearly a decade now. What a sad state of affairs.

I heard some interesting speculation/rumor on the radio yesterday.

Apparently, if Mo Harkless wants to go to a contender, the Knicks would be willing to buy him out.

The speculation was that the Lakers could really use him and all he'd need to change is his uniform and the locker room he put it on in.

Yep.

However, Dion Waiters was bought out. The Lakers need to go after him like a fat guy at a buffet.
My concern is Lebron being worn out running point by playoff time. I was hoping we added DC and less Rondo.

Me too. Waiters would be a good pick up though now that Collison is out.

Dude is a dangerous scorer and he is capable of playing lead guard in short spurts.

Rondo is currently playing about 21 minutes per game. If that can be cut to say...12-15 minutes per game with Waiters playing 6-10 minutes per game of his playing time as lead guard...that would help a lot.

A very nice win in Denver in a comeback fashion from a bad third quarter with both LeBron and AD scoring half of the 120 final total of points. This is not a real good trend for a post-season as others need to get into the game with scoring and add to our offense.

At the All-Star break, we are 41-12 and we are closing in on the best NBA overall record now that Milwaukee lost to Indiana and are at 46-8.

The Lakers sort of missed on the trade deadline because the deals all sucked but there are a number of players that are FAs at the guard position that can walk right in a sign with the Lakers without any trade detriment.

The two names that are surfacing are Dion Waiters and Tyler Johnson recently cut by the Suns. I am not sure adding either player will help with our depth problem at guard but if they sign one of them, somebody will have to go.

WE shall see if Pelinka does anything with either player to try and get some productive depth at the point guard position going forward.

After the All-Star break Isaiah Thomas is being bantered about. I don't think the Lakers are going to do much and we are going to go forward with the present roster.

We havent been to the playoffs in forever. I am happy we are there. If we don't win it this year, this team will be a monster next year.

There are still some decent players left in the buyout market.

I think the Lakers are probably waiting to see what happens with Mo Harkless. There has also been talk of them kicking the tires on Dion Waiters and/or JR Smith.

Hopefully, they won't wait too long on Harkless. He'd be a great addition, but if they don't get him and Waiters signs with someone else, they could be stuck.
