The opener is in Portland on Thursday the 18th. The Season is here!!

We are going to have to learn to play D in a hurry or we will open the season with a L unless we can outscore Portland.

That is my beef with him. We have a 10 point lead in the first and he changes the lineup. It is getting old fast.

We are scoring more but little or no D. LeBron did his part but how long is he going to tolerate this sort of losing even though it is the first game of the season?

I give it 10 games. I am also tired of losing to Portland LOL

Actually, the Lakers were okay on perimeter defense. It was rim protection that suffered. If a guy got beat on the perimeter, it was pretty much a free run to the basket unless McGee was in. Even then, if he was away from the basket, it was difficult to get back in time.

Also, you have to take in to consideration pace of play when looking at the point totals.

In the NBA, defense is always behind the offense, even on teams that have been together for awhile. For a team with a lot of guys who haven't played together, it's even tougher. Once they get the communication and trust established, they should get better defensively.

When I first saw that, I thought...wtf?

But then I realized that it's about developing a culture of being there for each other. Great lesson for the kids.

I noticed that, after he said that, the young guys were all but sprinting to help each other up. Saw Ingram do it at least a couple of times.

I am not sure why we didn't bring back Trevor Ariza for defense purposes. He could have provided that needed ingredient to improve our D.
