Bench still sucks.....
I have been yelling consistently over the past two years to NOT trade Hachimura and Reaves. We can wait for a Center in the summer either through the Draft or a FA without moving anymore assets. We certainly did not need to trade a budding star like Western Knecht for an Andrew Bynum-type Center in Mark Williams. That is for damn sure. Pelinka got rid of the right Players that should have been moved like Wood and DRuss.Couple things from tonight’s game.
1) how in the world did they lose to the Jazz and Hornets but can beat the Nuggets?
2) I never understood all the trading Hachimura talk the past 2 seasons. The Lakers need him. Did you see his defense on Jolkic tonight? It allowed Hayes to stay out of foul trouble, and with the double teams helping, held Jokic to 2-7 shooting. Plus, he’s been great at 3 pt range the past 2 seasons as well.
Knecht may be good but he isn't going to be a star. Reaves is better and he isn't even going to be a star.I have been yelling consistently over the past two years to NOT trade Hachimura and Reaves. Hachimura needs to shore-up some of his Defensive skills like most of the rest of the Lakers, but they are getting there slowly and I believe when the time comes, these Lakers will be a force going into the Post-Season.
I don't know about that, DJ.Knecht may be good but he isn't going to be a star. Reaves is better and he isn't even going to be a star.
I do. Reaves is a nice #3 option, but not a #1 or #2.I don't know about that, DJ.
Making sure 2 of the 3 are always on the court at the same time is key.Yep. That Doncic trade that was dumped in Pelinka's lap is really proving to be a fabulous trade for the Lakers. And Redick has really worked out very good rotations for what we all thought would be a problem having Reaves, James, and Doncic on the floor at the same time.
I think they should just go with what they have and let the players build their Defense-in-the Paint with DFS, Hachimura, Vanderbilt, Hayes, Kokolo, Jemison, and near the end of a game, Reddish.Still think Knecht needs to start eventually as the designated shooter....
And Reaves dealt (along with somebody else) to get a legit C and some bench help.
Not much help coming in FA or the draft.
True but you gotta rest the 3....keeping 2 on the court at all times is necessary. And Redick does play all three together as they work well in those scenarios. Redick did that last night several times and Doncic became the assist man to James and Reaves with an occasional shot attempt of his own. The Lakers actually grew their lead instead of having it decrease. I enjoyed watching that!!
