LAKERS played with urgency and heart finally against Portland. Zubac looked good too out there. Stevenson was a bit out of control this game but gets a pass because he's been very good. Rondo and LeBron controlling things at the end is the way to go. They'll make the right plays for others and set the tempo down the stretch. Smart clutch players.

Don't know if this is a good move or not. I think I would stay with the youngster Williams as McGee's back-up.

It's a good move for a couple of reasons, imo.

The Lakers only interior defender is McGee. Can't have him out there for 48 minutes.

Chandler is a big body, he can defend the paint and he can grab a few rebounds. He'll be on a no/low risk deal. So, if he doesn't work out, it won't really matter.

From what I've read and heard, he's also a good locker room guy that the kids can learn from.

Williams brings energy and could one day be a solid backup, he's got a lot to learn and looks lost at times. Also, as the article points out, he's on a 2 way contract so he can only play in the NBA for 45 days.

No. No, he cannot. Tyson is washed... done. Can’t guard anyone, can’t catch anything, moves slow. I promise you’ll dread the 10-15 minutes he plays every night.

Meh, we'll see. The Lakers really just need him to be a big body in the paint and grab a few rebounds. It's not like they are looking to sign him long term or depending on him to be big part of the defense. If he doesn't work out, they don't really lose anything.

Well we finally took it to the Blazers in Portland. We were up as much as 20 in this contest before the Blazers went on a 20-6 run in the fourth. LBJ and McGee took over along with Ingram and Hart hitting some key shots and we walked away with the win. We have a back-to-backer tonight at Staples and methinks I might have to visit that contest if I have the time.

Boy, when he took Rondo out end of second quarter, Portland immediately came back. Luke needs to leave the hot hand alone. Good win, but team cannot close at end of quarters. Almost blew a 20 point lead.

He is only a back-up. Being on the Suns, you say that about a lot of them.

Well, I am sure he'll be a tick better than Williams at this point.

We are still one of the worst defensive teams in the league and I don't think we will go anywhere of significance until that improves.

No Beasley? Oh for shame.

Not like Luke calls his number that often....

Looks like LBJ, Kuzma, McGee, Ingram, and Ball to start.
