Heard on the Musers this morning that in the first week of the season Berkman would go up to all the players in the clubhouse and ask them how it felt losing the 2011 WS and Cruz missing that ball. If he did that then he is one sorry sack of shit.

I'd bet a Corona he didn't say that BS to Nelly's face. Bringing him in this year was a joke.

If he liked STL he could've stayed there. Anybody defending him now has no excuse. Guy is a selfish dickwad

Berkman has been a jerk since his days at Rice (Friend's brother played with him there). Terrible teammate. Huge ego. If he said one word about the 2011 WS to Cruz he should have been decked.

It's true, he was talking about it on the radio one day. But the best thing he said that day was, how he was going to be done and when the Rangers offered him 11M he couldn't believe it. Still don't get that one, but not my money.

Turned out to be a big turd. It happens. It's not like there were a lot more options out there.

I never did understand it but lots of people were really excited to get him.

Berkman is meeting with FO today, will probably retire and forfeit 4.4m left on his contract.

At least he has the character to not continue to take the money.

11.12 for 2012
13.50 for 2013

4.20 for his career ... so the move to LAA and familiarity pitching at RBIA hasn't worked out real well for CJ

He started relying on that pitcher friendly ballpark instead of actually pitching.

I don't care why he sucks in LA.

I'm just happy he does!

I'd say it's just another indication that he folds under the pressure/spotlight.

I need to do the research ... but my impression is that when Weaver loses that a high percentage of the time that CJ the following night struggles as well.

Last night was at a AA game (NW Ark (KCR) @ Arkansas (LAA)) so had to 'watch' the LAA @ TEx game on gameday on my phone ... and it was very obvious he was struggling with his control right away.

The prototypical CJ ... has pitched well for LAA overall ... but whenever he pitches at RBIA he is just as likely or more likely to struggle ... 109 pitches in 4.0 tells the story.

What a great surprise!!! It was getting late on the east coast, so I hit the sack after the Rangers fell behind 11-7. Sure didn't expect this when I woke up this AM!!! Great victory!!! Soto rocks!...Martin too.

But what the heck was going on with our BP? A little concerning to say the least...hopefully it was a collective brain fart and they'll be back to normal today.

I think the BP is fine. Nathan and Frasor did great. Scheppers, NOT. Soria struggled a bit and the Ross came in and had one bad pitch that cost us three runs and the lead. Schep gave up 4 runs but one only earned. Even though the error that allowed 3 of the runs to score was an error from Schep and a wild pitch he threw that put two runners in scoring position. So yeah bad outing for the BP but the Angels know us as we know them. Why Ross threw an inside fastball to someone like Hamilton is unknown. He has made that mistake with left handed hitters a few times this year.

The Berkman comment is true - believe he asked them during Spring Training (on his first day). Its friendly banter with new teammates.

(i cant find the article where he was asked about it though)

It was something like: was more quiet in the clubhouse after the game 6 loss or game 7 loss. Joking or not that does not make you friends quick.

Sorry you missed the show. One surprise after another. Pitching was off but good enough I suppose. The offense came through.
