NFL Media analyst Charles Davis reports that some sources have FSU WR Kelvin Benjamin falling to the second round.
"I've had some sources tell me they think he might go in the second round. He seemed like a lock for the first round at one point, and might still go in the opening round, but his star has faded," Davis wrote. At 6-foot-5, 240 pounds, some teams are concerned about his ability to play at a high level at WR at his current weight. It's also been mentioned by NFL Media draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah, that some evaluators even think he could be a better fit "as a flexed out TE" at the next level. Whatever the reason for his fading star, now is not the time for a prospect to have his stock start dropping. However, we also have to be fully aware that this is smoke screen season.

I don't know how you guys don't think this is a huge risk pick. Especially over Moses, Kojo, Van Noy, and Attachou.

Enough of the WR talk at the #34 pick already!!! When we signed Jackson, we took the possability of WR at the #34 pick out of the equation....With the team we have, we can't waste our first pick on a WR that would clearly be #4 on the depth chart!!!!! It would be a wasted pick.....

If they want to take a flier on a WR later in the draft 5 or later...Ok....but enough of the ABSURD talk of WR at 34!!!!

You really have comprehension problems, don't you dean? Please show me a post where I stated I WANTED a WR at 34. What have I consistently said every time you ask me this question?

Actually what have I said??? That if Benjamin is the BPA, we shouldnt force the OT pick. I happen to think if he is there at 34 he would have to be considered one of the BPA and thus would warrant the pick. Also happen to think he would help our offense as a whole more. IF they determine MOses or another OT as the BPA fine.

it would be a hard sell to me to believe that benji is the best value at that spot over a o/lineman or a defender

but if that is the case then pick the flex TE /wr :suds:

Just depends on who the OLman or defender is. If there is a run on OL, then we may be left with R2-3 OL guys to choose from at 34. If Benjamin is still there, then there is a good possibility that he will be the BPA. We should either take him if we evaluate him to be the best player on the board or trade down. What you don't do is stay at 34 and reach down for a T or G/C because we need OL help. Because chances are if we do that, we will still need OL help and we have just wasted our first pick.

i would not limit that thinking just to o/line . d/line , lb , and the defensive backfield are all in the mix as could TE . i am not sold on the health challenged reed, paulson (lousy year blocking last year ) and paul as my TE corp

paul should be cut i gave him 3 years and he hasnt stepped up

IF he is there at 34 you are 100% correct i want him. No need for me to back down off that.

A solid #2 to that is I dont want an O-lineman at 34 period.

Realize they will likely do the exact opposite, but as it stands right now I think Benjamin will likely be the BPA at 34 if there and he does fill a need even if no one wants to admit its a need.

fills a need? lol. A 4th WR red zone threat is a bigger need than RT, CB, 2nd TE red zone threat, or pass rushing LB who can play all LB positions. Classic shark.

Again do we have a player of his stature on the team? NOPE. Even as a 4th WR do you honestly think he wont see a good number of snaps from all over the field?? As i said, a second pass catching TE wont serve the same role and in fact likely wont see the field in redzone opportunities unless Reed is hurt as the 2nd TE in that situation is usually of the blocking verity.

We have capable CBs, RT and even guys who should be capable at all the LB spots.

Typical Skins fans have been crying every year for replacing every one on the roster and then wonder why it always looks like a Chinese fire drill when the games start.

How many times did we try and pass in the redzone and fail?? And again I realize you are trying to minimize the need for size down to the redzone. BUt if you cant see that Benjamin would be used all over the field, I dont know what to say. You really think Gruden would only put him on the field in the redzone??

Garcon is a great WR, but he is no end zone threat. That's evidenced by his low TD numbers. What Shark is referring to is a lack of a big WR that we can put on the outside in a 1 on 1 situation with a CB and we can throw a fade or a corner, or a jump ball to and he can go up and beat his man to the ball. We do not have anyone on the team that has shown that capability, not even Reed. Reed is good between the hash marks against LBs and Safeties. But in the RZ, space is compressed and the middle is hard to find an open receiver.

4 of garcon's 5 tds last season were in the red zone

hankerson had 2 tds in the red zone and one from 24 yrds out

in 2012 garcon had 3 red zone tds out of 5 in 10 games

hankerson had 2 out of 3 in the red zone

in 2013 all 3 of jordan reeds tds were in the red zone

Really? You think those are good numbers? Our WRs had a total of 6 TDs in the end zone all year and you think that is good????
