Much respect for London! What a character guy and player. A bright spot for the Redskins during a tumultuous time. Hope we can send him off with a WIN against Dallas and the support and love of the skins faithful that he deserves.

I agree. I also hope he doesn't get snubbed for the HOF. He deserves it. But something tells me he will get jerked around, just like his PB nominations. He was never flashy enough or a self promoter.

London Fletcher represented the Redskins with integrity, character and a passion for the game unmatched by most. He will go down as one of my all time Redskin greats along with Sonny, Darrell & Art. London Fletcher has been a credit to his profession, his longevity is surpassed by few and he has a very loyal fan base that supports him. It is sad, however that he selects now as the time to retire. Clearly, stepping down after last season would have been in "the best interest of the team," and himself, but neither he nor his coaches were willing to admit the time had come for a younger more capable player to step in for this warrior. Now at the end of a horrendous season, we say goodbye to a player deserving a sendoff more in line with last seasons record and his declining skills than the current one. We all knew that this time was closer to reality than not, yet now that it has come what's left? Accolades for and a warm glow for the player...of course, but also a giant hole on the defensive side of the ball, because either the team thought it better to play him this season (his last) in detriment to the team...........OR..............confirm publicly that there was no one better to replace him with. Either way........TSK....TSK.....TSK.
