I think we'll be good when Edwards gets back. Hopefully him and Crab can stay healthy the remainder of the season. If we were more of a passing team I would be more disappointed. If anything we need to find ways to get VD the rock more.

Good point but I think we need to be able to pass the ball effectively as well if for nothing else than to loosen up defenses who are jamming the scrimmage line to prevent the run. The Niners really only produced a couple of good runs against the Lions and that skewed the stats somewhat. Passing the ball effectively is very important to this offense.

With it looking like their 5th round pick will be much higher than ours... We would have needed to give them a 4th round pick to beat their offer. Or multiple later round picks.

M'eh, in 9 years he only cracked 1000 yards once. I still don't think he would have been accepted well in the Locker Room. I seem to remember Frank Gore being disgusted in Lloyd's behavior after 49ers home losses in 2005. Saying that he'd never been in a situation where guys rap and dance out by their cars after getting embarrassed at home, with the article's author saying Gore was talking about Lloyd.

With Frank as the captain now instead of just the rook, that would have been one heck of a frosty relationship.

But Lloyd, an aspiring rapper, was also reviled by some of the veterans in the locker room. He came into the organization bubbling with confidence and arrogance, and he got on the wrong side of some of his teammates. Long-time fullback Fred Beasley once lamented that, following a grueling road loss, he had to listen to Lloyd talk about the length of his braids on the otherwise quiet plane ride back to San Jose.

I doubt Lloyd has changed much, it sure doesn't seem like it.

I would have enjoyed seeing him on the team again for the rest of the season, but not for what we would have been forced to give up in return.

Should be interesting watching him go against Rogers and Culliver two times this season.
