I agree 100% with the reasoning. The black trim has always been an embarassment - a ridiculous, cheap ploy. Now it also stands as a symbol of the Millen era.

Why is it dumb? I hate it too. Name another traditional team that's changed it's color scheme, even by adding or removing a color. No, the Seahawks, Jaguars and Astros don't count.

We didn't change our color scheme, we added black trim. Black isn't one of our colors now, it's just there to make the figures stand out...

1. What's the point of even that?? Why put any black anywhere?? You're the Detroit Lions, for god's sake. You're blue & silver. Millen comes in and wants to be the Carolina Panthers.

2. It's not just trim and accent. There are Black faceguards, black alternate pants, black alternate jersies. They've added it as a third color.

Those are the best unis ever right there. For a throwback anyways. Hate the black ones though. And the black face masks. And the black stripes. And.... Shit I saw a guy in a Herman Moore jersey the other day, Wilson Staff. Bright Honalulu Blue, with silver. Why'd we screw with perfection?

I'm still shocked people take such offense to a neutral accent color.

We don't wear the black uniforms or the black pants anymore (haven't since the Millen era), so I don't see what all the fuss is about.

Imo, black, white and grey are universal colors that can be added in small doses to any given color scheme without compromising the team's colors. That's just my $.02, but I like the way it makes the numbers and logo pop. I also did not care for the black jerseys, for what that's worth.

Also, white is not one of our team colors, yet nobody is getting up in arms about our road jerseys... same deal, why no hate there?

I'd like to see a home alternate uni set up this year with blue jerseys and blue pants with silver numbers and letters and helmets. Kind of a clean, "all blue" look...
