I thought I was bad but you guys are a tough crowd. Lol

Unless an extension gets signed I don't suggest that anyone buy a Ngata jersey.

I fear this trade could end up with some sort of drinking game associated with it similar to the Mike Thomas trade.

Not as simple as that. Without an extension in place this could very easily be a one year relationship.

If that proves to be the case then its not a good trade. I am simply evaluating it as who got the better end of it. With the Ravens very likely to be cutting him anyway trading away two picks this year favors them by a ton. Its a desperation trade.

Certainly glad to have him but its another loss on Millenhew's record.

I wont go as far as to say Mayhew and company didnt realize this when making the trade. This is Ngata's last opportunity to get adecent contract so why wouldnt he sign a new one? If he waits another year, he will potentially lose money.

Jets sign Skrine. Hopefully the Lions are trying to get Revis.

They have reported that he and the Ravens weren't even close in trying to get a new deal done. So how much are you willing to pay??

Jets got Brandon Marshall for just a 5th. Compare that to what the Lions just did.

Don't hate it but I don't love it.

I fear over-paying him as much as I do losing him after a year.

Poor drafting isn't a good reason to give away picks. Keep them and improve scouting.
Whatever....imo I do that deal every day that ends in "y"... even if Ngata only stays the year. At best those two picks become decent backups after a year or two of coaching up...on top of the fact that alot of dead cap money goes bye bye next year. Sorry if not everyone is ready to go sit in the garage with the car running like some I could name.

Here are terms of BALT-DET trade: Lions receive Haloti Ngata and 7th-round pick while Baltimore gets 4th- and 5th-round picks, per source.

Lions got a 7th too so they can use that to ruin some kids dreams, time and life .

I absolutely agree with every part of that statement.

But my attention is especially drawn to the part about how it had to be done given the situation. That in particular is just another demonstrative piece of evidence that shows how poorly this team is managed.

there would have been some decent players to choose from in that 4th or 5th round but not one person in here could say they'd pan out. A OG should have been available in the 4th still and 5th round could be where developmental LB'ers exist, IMO. but you never know what pans out.

Those two picks aint shit. We all would just be sitting back "hoping" those picks would turn into some ultimate player when in reality, they probably wouldnt. Ill take Ngata

Another true LOL moment reading that one.

Time to move on from bashing the entire team and focus those efforts on those that really are to blame for this though.

Sure it is but at least they did something. Suh never wanted to return to Detroit unless they paid him more than anyone else so that stuff is irrelevant. Aquiring Ngata at least gives them a chance to re-up and not make desperation moves. It may bring down the price for Fairley too.
