You know, I read Mebert's question and didn't realize he was titled "asst."

So it will be interesting to see which way he goes in FA and his first draft. What was he actually responsible for in NE? Did he even bring Blount in 3 times?

I don't think he does have asst. in his title, he is the director. But nfl titles always seem ambiguous to me so I have no Idea what his day to day job was

That is a move when I've said careful what you wish for comes into play. Not just any hire is better than Caldwell.

I'm not exactly sure, but from what I read, Quinn and Caserio were the two go to guys for Belichick. Also he has been with them since 2000, so he has been part of 4 super bowl wins and watched how a winning organization is run.

I like the hire. Any time we can get someone into Detroit from a winning frachise -- I'll take it.

Agreed, I'd rather have Caldwell. Accorsi said its important to pair a veteran coach with a first time GM. Not a huge Caldwell guy, he's really mismanaged at times but I think he's the safe pick for now as long as we keep Austin and Cooter as Coord.

I think today is the day we find out about Caldwell. Apparently Pats assistants can interview today. If Quinn has any interest in Matt Patricia, Josh McD or anyone else, today is the day to interview them. Although he could also have an inside track and wait until after the playoffs too I suppose.

Possibly, I'm not a Caldwell supporter by any stretch and I wouldn't be upset if he was canned but I do believe there is some sort of validity to what Accorsi is saying.
