Seems high profile guys getting released after big splash signings already taken place in FA. I wonder if this is a new pattern we will see going forward or just a thing this year. CJ2K and DJax are guys normally hit market day one and scooped up. With these back loaded contracts nowadays might be new norm.

With Detroit losing Jason Fox to free agency, Shugarts will compete for the No. 4 tackle spot behind Riley Reiff, LaAdrian Waddle, and Corey Hilliard. An undrafted free agent in 2012, Shugarts has spent time on the Browns, Cowboys and Jets practice squads the last two seasons

The Lions worked him out on Monday and moved quickly to add him. We're not surprised Vaughn looked good in shorts -- he has 4.42 speed -- but he has struggled mightily whenever asked to cover receivers in the NFL. Vaughn is a better special teamer and returner. He'll vie for a roster spot with Detroit.
