Hey Frank, I don't have a problem with the NBA (although I've always been a bigger hockey fan). Truth be told, I'm a bigger fan of NCAA basketball than the NBA, but to each his own. Also, just because something is more popular doesn't necessarily mean it's better. Justin Bieber and One Direction are two examples that come immediately to mind.

I love the NHL, I love hockey, I love my team...I think most everyone here knows this. However, there is a distinct inferiority complex within "hockey only" fans. At the beginning of the Pirates ascent this season Penguin only fans were out in full force being obnoxious and taking time to tear down people who cheered for the Pirates because "they're perennial losers." Really? Do you know who Battleship Kelly is? How about Ron Stackhouse? Do you know who Briere is and why his number is retired? Hell, do you even know who Dan Patrick is? No? Well, seeing as you only align yourself with the Penguins, I would think you'd take the time to know the history of your team.

I love Pittsburgh, we support our teams like crazy (though it usually does take some light at the end of a tunnel for everyone to show up), but gosh our teams create more bandwagon "Steelers only" "Penguins only" type fans than ever. Obviously a lot of it comes from the displaced people from the Steel Industry collapse...and that's fine, but don't tear me down just because I have to audacity to support all my city's teams.

Annnnd end rant.
