For my money, the Mets have the worst active roster in the Majors right now. Their lineup is old,

Well, it just got younger by cutting Adrian Gonzalez

I agree. That .080 avg this season isn't gonna cut it. I'd DFA him if I were the Mets.

He could at least out-pitch those Mahoning Valley 'tards in Class-A

Fun Facts

On their most recent homestand, The Mets batted .147

In the history of baseball, there have been over 13,000 homestands of 7 games or more, that is the worst batting average by the home team in history

Jacob De Grom has an ERA of 0.87 over his last 10 starts

The Mets are 2-8 in those starts

WHat about Jose Bautista, Jose Reyes, Asdrubal Cabrera, Jay Bruce, Todd Frazier and Yoenis Cespedes?

All are old, Cespedes is the only one that scares anyone anymore, and he seems to have the most trouble staying healthy.

They need to absolutely gut it, which means, with nothing in the minors, getting a haul for De Grom and Noah

They have to stop with the Jay Bruce/Todd Frazier type bandaids every winter, and just come to grips with their reality that they are a loooooong way from serious contention

Braves were in the same boat at the end of 2014. It sucks, and it's brutal, but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet.

But they're gonna be stuck with Cespedes and Bruce.

Yankees werent as bare, but they went from old, stale and boring to the complete opposite almost solely on the strength of trading Chapman and Miller, and you have to think De Grom and Syndeegard is bringing back far more for sure

I hear what you guys are saying, but when will we see another pair of starters like Jake and Noah?

we'd still suck, but would lose 8-1 instead of 3-1

The Mets don't have near the pieces already in place that the Yankees had. They don't have a Sanchez and Judge waiting in the minors.

It'll be a much longer process for the Mets(our farm system ranked dead last when we started the rebuild, and we're just now seeing things turn around 4 years later, and it's a year sooner than expected).

Syndergaard, deGrom and Familia(I assume they'd want to keep Nimmo) are their only real desirable pieces. They need to get big hauls back for them and hope the prospects they get back pan out.

But at the same time, they'd be selling low on Syndergaard who missed most of last season and is on the DL now, and while he's been good, he hasn't been as dominant as he was pre last season's injury.

Nobody is gonna trade for Bruce's or Cespedes's contracts. They're stuck with them.

They're not gonna get much for Cabrera or Frazier either.

Reyes and Bautista just need to retire.

If they start the rebuild now, it's 5 years minimum before the Mets are contending again.

I'm not so sure I'd mention Noah in the same sentence as Jake.
