Not interested in Scherzer, Kershaw, or Cobb (we already talked about him). Stroganoff would be nice as would Gray (though there aren’t even rumors that he has even talked to us). I like the idea of Wood as a 4/swing. He is nails for 4 innings a game, but nothing past that.

It will be interesting to see what FZ does with the offense, though. Suzuki and Bryant are interesting stories for us.
“Stroganoff”??

LOL

I really should proof read my posts before I click “post reply”…

(that should be “Stroman”)

I thought that you were trying to give him a nickname in advance of the Giants possible signing him (since Gausman, Scherzer and Gray are off the board, it could be a real possibility)

Kevin Gausman suddenly looks very affordable on the deal he signed with the Blue Jays . . .

Mets are going all in this year, but FA is not the way you build a core. FA should be used to augment an already intact core.

I doubt he opts out, unless he earns every penny in 2022 and 2023. He's good but he'll also be 39 when he can opt out.
Depends how the $$ is spread in the contract. If it is front loaded, maybe he thinks he can opt out and gain an extra year’s salary somewhere.

BTW, “opt-out”s should be called what they really are…. “Player options”.

I like Gaus; I like him a lot. I don’t like him for 5/125. I don’t know that we missed out on many SPs at all.

Chacin, Haney, Kluber, Matz, Rodriguez, Thor, Verlander, Wacha.

of those, how many were ‘misses?’ By my read: Matz.

Gaus, Scherzer, Ray, Kershaw, Rodon, Cobb, Gray, Stroman, Kikuchi, Wood all still there. I’d imagine Wood and Cobb are close to being signed.

not sure why you think we are in hurry up mode.
Only the following from your list remain:
Kershaw
Rodon
Cobb
Stroman
Kikuchi
Wood

I would guess that Stroman is the next to heat up on the rumor board.

I do wonder what happened with the Wood deal.

KNBR said about an hour ago that Wood was getting his physical today and will likely have his deal announced after. Sounds like it is a done deal.

Doggies have lost Seager and Scherzer so far. We have lost Posey and Gausman.

Neither team has added any big names yet.

Both teams, to date, are worse than they were at the end of the season.

10 years, $325m. HOLY CRAP!!

Wasn't it the same idiot Rangers that signed A-Rod to a 10 year $240 million contract back in the day?

This hurts the Dogs, but dang, for a really good hitter who can't seem to play a full season?
