Saw Darryl's post about the Cubs and A's...interesting. Samardja (sp) would be a rental, as A.s would never meet his $100 m multi-year contract demands...Don't recall if Hammel would be a free agent next year...

Long post about this in MLB Trade Rumors. Hammel is under a one year deal win the Cubs and Samardzija has one year of arbitration left...said the A's would have to likely give up their top prospect for Samardzjia

But samardzija is a better option than Garza or "Dumpster"... Provided they can keep him after one year...
