He missed and ended up knocking himself unconscious, it matters none. He was so furious that after the game, after being ejected, he went after Cobb in a tunnel, Babe Ruth couldn't hold him back.

Cobb had mouthed off to him in the game, and we all know that Gehrig was not the type to get mad for something trivial.
