So despite being a fan of the Laker's I assume you still think Jerry West should return his finals MVP trophy then?

That was a one off. Over 45 years ago.

And yes I don't think a losing player deserves the MVP so take it off him by all means if it helps you sleep better at night.

While I am a Browns & Indians fan I have never been a fan of the Cavs. I started following NBA back in the early 80's, have always been a Celtics fans. I have been to 3 total NBA games since 1992. In '92 I was @ Larry the Legends final NBA game when the Cavs knocked the Celtics outta the playoffs, that sucked. In '96 I was @ the NBA AS Game when they announced the 50 greatest players of all time, that was pretty cool. And after nearly 5 years of living in Boulder I finally made it to a Nuggets game this year. Boston's only trip to Denver this past regular season.

my exwife lives on long island.

so fuck that noise.

I have never been to NYC & really have no desire to ever visit the place. The closest I got was back in the late 80's/early 90's, went to a Syracuse game @ the Carrier Dome.

I'd be happy if the Cavs could pull off the upset. The city of Cleveland hasn't won shit since '64. On the plus side though factories in the area dumped crap into the river & the Cuyahoga River got so polluted it caught on fire back in '69. That's something for all Clevelanders (I'm originally from Akron) to be proud of, right? I have a better chance of winning the lottery than the Cavs pulling off this Finals upset though.

Could happen, it's happened in the NHL, unsure about baseball or football.

Damn, that's nasty. Did it eventually get cleaned up?

Super Bowl V. The Colts beat the Cowboys 16-13 but Chuck Howley was named game MVP.

oh yeah, its night and day now. its actually something the DEP points to as a success as far as cleaning up a river goes.

http://www.weather.com/science/news/bostons-charles-river-clean-enough-swimming-20130722

from 2013:

Love that dirty water?

No more. Not in Boston, at least.

Those lyrics, popularized by The Standells’ 1966 hit song about Beantown, are no longer apt to describe the city’s famously grimy Charles River. Last weekend marked the first time in half a century the water was swimmable for the general public, according to the Charles River Conservancy (CRC)—an event marked by nearly 150 people jumping into the waterway that flows from Hopkinton to the Boston Harbor.

“With cheers of celebration, swimmers jumped off the dock at the Esplanade to enjoy a cool swim in the Charles,” stated a CRC release about the event. “During the four 30-minute swim segments, swimmers splashed, laughed and treaded water in awe of the moment, as lifeguards watched from the dock and from kayaks on the water.”

tradition says not a chance.

It would take a transcendent performance for that tradition to change.... this is the closest thing I've ever seen to that.

I answered no because I think this series is over in 6. However, if the Cavs extend this to a 7th game and lose a close one, I think he will and should win it.

Nope. Curry deserves it if GS wins. Plain and simple.
Curry doesn't deserve it so far but I think if GS wins he gets it.

Lebron has been the MVP though. He's carried Cleveland. No one else in the series has had the impact LBJ has.

Yeah, I always look at MVP as most valuable to his particular team. Everything else being the same, take Lebron out of the Cavs lineup and this is likely the worst blowout in finals history.
