Loved Van Exel. The guys on the roster in his rookie season were very interesting....Sam Bowie, Vlade, Rambis, Worthy.....and Magic was briefly the head coach. What an odd year in Laker history, the last remnants of the legendary 80s teams mixed in with guys like Van Exel, Lynch, Elden Campbell, Peeler and Threatt.

Was a Van Exel fan because he played for Bob Huggins at Cincy. Back in the day I went to his summer basketball camp before he took the Bearcat job.

Man Baylor was great. Too bad NBA fans of a certain age probably have no idea how good he was.

Kobe gets a lot of criticism for not passing, but he was second best in assists by a shooting guard in NBA history (behind Clyde). Part of that is longevity, but he was still 13th all time in APG at the position.

Fix that by playing LeBron at 4, Kobe at 3 and Jerry West at 2.

Thanks. He suffered a stroke recently. At 84 didn't think he was gonna make it. But he's through the worst of it and should be back home in a few days.
