Well, leading up to 2009 the buzz was about the Knicks. We know how that played out.

Besides, at least half the Laker fans on here don't even want LeBron their team. At least they say that now.

I gotta give Lebron his props if he does do this.. Never did I think he had the balls to go out west where the better teams like SA/OKC/Houston/GS are.

But on the other hand, if he joins (looking likely as Cavs got too much salary on their books), I would assume the Lakers will be ridiculously stacked

Why? George is the only other one. You think the FO is going to give up the young guys just to get old ass Melo and Wade in?

If they want to be instant contenders to the titles the next few years and not contenders for another 5-10 years? Im sure other teams want their piece of "superteam" action if they can.

Lakers fans don't expect mediocrity either because of their long standing track record of great teams and titles . They want results now. Im sure there is gonna be pressure on the Lakers FO to make it happen

Depending on the playmakers they can nab I guess with them. Melo can still play.. Wade is still a solid 3rd or 4th fiddle.

I wouldn't be surprised if its an entirely new Lakers team if Lebron does join. As mentioned, Lakers fans are willing to throw away another 5-10 years of mediocrity for championship contendership the next 3-4 years.

Lebron isn't going there if hes just gonna play with a bunch of 20 year olds for sure as Im sure he knows decline is imminent within the next 2-3 years and he will want to nab as many titles as he can before retirement

Lebron is only playing for CHAMPIONSHIPS at this point. You aren't getting those with 20 year olds

You mean as opposed to guys who are injury prone, old, and could hardly play 30 minutes a game even if they wanted to?

Heck, why not get Jordan, Kobe and Kareem out of retirement while he's at it?
