Feel like I haven't seen you post in ages, good to see you.You are talking multiple lineups:
The opening day lineup.
The lineup after Julio R is called up.
The lineup after the deadline.
Opening Day
CF Lewis R
SS JPC L
1B France R
DH/RF Haniger R
CF Kelenic L
3B/DH Donaldson R
RF David Peralta L
2B Frazier L
C Raliegh S/Murphy R
Twins owe Donaldson $51.5 million over the next two years. They'd have to eat about $15-20 million of that to make this trade work. I think they would just to be rid of his contract. Toro and Misiewicz go back to the Twins. Lopsided player value? Yes. But, it evens out with the Twins getting out from under several million on a contract on a player on the backside of his career.
Peralta is 34 and in his walk year. The trade is a salary dump from an Arizona team that won't need him next year anyway. The D'Backs aren't going to compete for a while yet. Therefore, we can send them utility players to get the deal done. Dylan Moore. And Julio is the future RFer here, so Peralta may get moved at the deadline or platooned.
What I don't want to see them do is tie up a huge chunk of payroll in Bryant or Story. I don't think either player is worth the money they are expected to command.

Interesting. If the Twinkies are in salary dump/re-build mode, it is a great trade for them, Great for the Padres too as they have an owner with deep pockets and not afraid to spend.nice but check tis out...........
