Just so you new guys know-the owner and mods here are a great group of guys.When you visit/join another sports forum,it's best to read the rules,as to what's allowable.You get the ban hammer here,it's well deserved IMO.

A center or a power forward capable of playing center can certainly rack up the rebounds and the blocks. But Lebron's point is that he guards different players at different positions. Consider this intangible. Lebron's defensive versatility should at least warrant him top 3 in defense. Last year, Lebron's defense on Kevin Durant earned him his first championship. And nobody could contain Kevin Durant until that point. Having difficult defensive assignments and performing well on them while carrying the offensive load is remarkable.

This is the same reason why Kobe is also a phenomenal defender. While he has slowed down a step or two, he too has guarded the opposing team's offensive threat.

If you diminish Lebron's defensive ability, you also diminish Kobe's defensive ability all throughout his career. The overall picture should be considered.

...And a lot of guys can guard 5 positions. Albeit not very well (just like Lebron)....

...So I'd like to see any stats or logic that supports Lebron coming in 2nd place in DPOY other than his Nike/espn pr machine pushed this on us?

Please someone provide some sort of stat to support this....Btw when MJ won the award he averaged 3.2 steals and 1.6 blocks, nearly doubling Lebron's stats...

Think about this. If you rely on stats alone then Lebron would have won the regular season MVP 8 times for being the most complete player in the league or the most efficient scorer.

If Lebron doubled his stats to match Jordan's then the award would have been his.
