Truth.

This crowd (the he-man Kessel-haters club) would probably rag on Bossy too.

When a shitty team loses the best players tend to get blamed rather than the shitty ones that are actually the problem. It's not fair of course, but it's pretty standard shit at this point.

Not so. Bossy was likeable and didn't prefer night-fishin' to playoffs. :heh:

Bossy had a good coach, good teammates and a winning culture around him.

Phil has shit for brains as a captain, a fourth line for a third line, and is going on year six of not having a true #1 centre to play with. I'd probably rather be fishing than be around that toxic hellhole, too.

Now now, it is far too early for that kind of negativity. July and August are for ridiculously inflating expectations.

Have you lost your copy of the "Dummies Guide to being a Leaf Fan" ?

If entries are still being taken I'd like to take a crack at this.

Please put me down for the Leafs making the playoffs and bowing out in the conference finals after eliminating Montreal and Pittsburgh.

Now now, wait until the drugs wear off and then take another crack at this

Sure. I'll accept entries till the start of the season on October 8. Since we don't know who they'll meet in the playoffs, I'll put you down as losing in the conference finals.

For those interested, I'll also accept requests for changes if you don't like your initial pick. Same deadline.

Phil Kessel, point-per-game player and constant Hart Trophy threat, will always make the Leafs dangerous even when they shouldn't be.

Plus Stay Puff is the Loafs resident enforcer.

If (and that's a big if) Pittsburgh makes the playoffs whoever they meet in the first round will have a bye because the Pens will fold like they usually do. Montreal might have some problems if the one man team (PK) loses interest.

What ? No mention of the genius he has as his head coach >

What more can I say. I was advocating his termination when they were driving toward their first playoff appearance in a decade, and have been ever since The Meltdown. The current situation, with two possible replacements as his assistants, is just terrible.

I hear ya Bud ! I just find solace in the fact that barring a second round of play offs he most certainly will be kicked to the curb after this year............right ? Please agree

Honestly don't have the slightest idea how Shanahan is planning on running this team. I look right now and guess he wants a year to see what he has, what is good and bad and what changes are urgent and which he has time to make. I think that's reasonable and with precedent - hell, the Raptors just did that with Ujiri and were rewarded with a great season, a playoff spot and a brighter outlook on the future.

Or he's a fucking tool and he thinks Nonis and Co. are doing a fanfuckingtastic job. Either or.

The less P.P. Slewbann plays the better Montreal's chances are to advance. The honchos on Team Canada knew this and didn't even need to discuss it, but Les Habitants are going to pay this kid like someone who knows how to play defense. I love it.

On a related note, Leafs avoid arbitration with Franson - 1 year, $3.3 million. Still guessing he gets moved.

I hope the Habs open the vault for PK.
