4 for $60......... 5 for $75....
its only 1 additional year @ $15 million....
idk...
well now the Angels are far and away the favorite to win the West and we're sitting on our hands
There's still the possibility of Shields. I'd be happy if they made that trade or signed Darvish, but I'm not going to be upset if neither happens.
Not far and away, but they're up there for sure.
they now have the offense and the pitching
You're talking about a guy who set a MLB record by being the losing pitcher in the AS game, LDS, LCS and WS.... all in one season.
And from the from what I just read the Rangers were 21-13 in Wilson's starts and 74-52 when the other 4 started. It may not be the end of the world...
No doubt they will miss CJ, but not having him doesn't guarantee a lack of success. Heck, didn't Seattle win 116 games after losing the best player in baseball even though he stayed in the division? Didn't Texas have a better record the year after Arod left? Projecting the future in the off season is at best, a crap shoot.
They'll almost certainly have to move Santana now, and adding one bat (even if he is the best in baseball) does not mean their pathetic offense is now elite.
I hope the FO doesn't take that attitude. That is EXACTLY how LAA was wrangled into the Wells contract last year.
Nothing wrong with being TB like, Fordman. You'd be right more often than not.
so forget what he gave us in the regular season and only go after pitchers/players who perform in the post-season. that kind of limits your pool of players that you can go after.
but now we'll just have to wait and see how we do from now thru ST and then what this team does in the regular season. as of right now our #1 pitcher is Holland who until last year struggled and couldn't pitch a whole season.
yup he is gone to angels.....5 years 75.....rangers didnt want to do that??
they are not planning on letting Santana go and the only thing their offense was missing was a thunder stick hitting 3rd and they've got that now
