My theory is this. If you make it, you give mahomes 4 downs. No way you are stopping them on 4 downs. If it's tied, a 4th and 6 at the 50, you might just get the chiefs to punt, so you have a chance to win. Going for it is just fucking stupid in my mind.

Why would they do so? They clearly are fine with it and everyone still watches. It's the nature of the sport, it's impossible to officiate. You either enjoy a sport run by refs or you don't.
