To say that was a must win game for SF would be putting it mildly, even if it's only week 6.
They already have 2 division losses as it is, but a 3rd would've been a bummer and could've put them at 2-4.
With tonight's win they're now at 3-3, and in 1st place in the NFC West, with KC looming for a visit to Levi's in 10 days.
