Rising Tide
I can't stop laughing at that picture
Cool if Nuss is gone, too pass happy for the talent we have at RB. I won't believe for a second though that Kiffin is coming T-town until he is calling plays for us next September.
To pass happy, are ya nuts, Amari Cooper is ranked 111th in the nation in Yards and he only had 45 receptions. And AJ is ranked 62nd in the nation with 336 Att's compare that to Connor Halliday at Washington State with over 700 Att's. I would think that it wasn't the play calling, I don't think AJ had receivers to compliment him in the passing game. Ya the RB's were there, but Alabama had some bad receivers. JMO.
Vol fans:
it would be a bad hire for them and good for us because he seems like a cancer for a program
agree 100%. I believe it would be an absolute train wreck. 2 gigantic egos pulling against each other. I hope they get him.
I'd say Saban and Kiffin deserve each other!
I hope so
Please let him go there
God I hope so
THIS WOULD BE GREAT!!!!
He had some of the best talent ever fielded by a college team at USC and ran it into the ground with his play calling. I hope he becomes the OC at Bama!
Lil Kif must have neked pics of Saban. Cant see any other reason to entertain it.
Saban must think he has some major problems to go to this length.
Saban is not that stupid
If it happened Kiffin would be in knoxville this Fall...oh my haha
it would be great news for TN fans. His ego and arrogance would completely clash with NS. Also, gives TN fans yet another reason to hate Alabama. How sweet and ironic it would be for Tennessee to upset Alabama because they totally shut down Alabama's anemic Kiffin-led offense.
I hope he gets the job. He will be Saban's cryptonite.
It actually may be happening....
It's all happening now....
Wife is bama fan all her friends on face book say its in works. News there is reporting it. Can anyone confirm
I am laughing for real.
Great news. Death and destruction follows wherever Kiffin goes.
(Bama fan Maybe a 5% chance Kiffin gets the job. It's going to be Billy Napier or Mike Groh. My guess is Groh.
And so begins the downfall of the great Bama dynasty. HA HA HA
It will be funny to watch the bammer fans who joked about him when he was here. He would automatically become an offensive genius and they would question why he didn't stay at UT. "It must have had something to do with that AD before you guys took our ole Assistant AD" I can hear it now!
(funny thing is, that this is a comment from a Bama forum today written to other Bama fans: "some of you folks are pretty hypocritical...ripping on Kiffy for years but then the second he's linked to Bama he's a genius, brilliant, and a visionary. seriously?!?! fact is he's failed....everywhere...he's failed. his teams, and his offenses, improve when he leaves. there is not a single program he left in better shape than when he entered")
If Layla did not like Knoxville, I have to wonder how well she will fit in with all the Honey BooBoo's down in Bammer country!!! HA HA HA
I'm sure Layla will love Tuscaloosa.
Apparently his wife didn't like it here in Knoxville, so I can't imagine her liking it any better in Tuscaloosa of all places
kiffin breaks everything he touches. GO FOR IT BAMA.
Please let this happen. It's right up there with Dooley being hired by the Cowboys. Comedic Gold.
I have to think the only reason Saban is bringing him in for recruiting purposes. Kind of scary when you think of how Kiffin did recruit for UT. he wasn't that great of a coordinator. he wasn't horrible but i would not call him great either.
Kitten's recruiting prowess has taken some hits. Bama sells itself fine, I can't see him being that much of a help. He is a pretty good qb coach I guess, I seen nothing in his play calling to scare anyone. GO VOLS!!!
Kiffin can't coach, from and X and O perspective, but he has recruited more 5 star players over the 3 years than anyone in D1. This is a talent that will also keep you gainfully employed. If hired it would be to mainly take over some of Satins recruiting responsibilities.
Lets be honest here. Lane only had success during his two years as USC's co-OC to Asst Head Coach Steve Sarkisian (and there is a reason Sark is still a coach and Lane isn't) Since then:
Oakland= Failed
UT= Failed. Not to mention almost single handedly killed our program.
USC v2= Failed with quality talent and was fired mid season only to see the team win their way to bowl game with O at the helm.
Hmmmm. Yeah Bammers hire him, he is just what we and the rest of the SEC want.
(Bama fan Now that I think of it, if Napier gets promoted to OC, it wouldn't shock me if Kiffin gets brought in as a QB coach. Assuming he'd be willing to be a position coach again.
It's hard for me to accept that Nick Saban would be interested in the poopy storm that would be associated with hiring Kiffin. He has to know that there are plenty of guys out there that are AT LEAST as capable as LK and exist in relative obscurity. Is LK really of the quality that makes it worth the headache?
(Bama fan I really doubt Kiffin gets the job
Bammers will be in meltdown mode if this happens, and I for one will enjoy it.
In my opinion, Alabama bringing in Kiffin is almost suicidal for their program.
I don't understand the "Bammers will be in meltdown mode" thing. I've seen that from 4 different places, yet most Bama fans either don't care or actually WANT this.
and just how much would this piss off Vol fans...
Why would they hire a OC that knowingly will make big recruiting violations?
My sources just confirmed that, given the Petrino re-hiring in Louisville, Tennessee is willing to take another long hard look at Kiffin.
You do realize he isn't really coming to Alabama right?
From Kiffin's prespective, it's a no-brain win. He realizes that he won't get another HC job in forever. The only thing to do is jumpstart his life. Drop down to being an OC under one of the greatest college football coaches and learn "the system." Keep your nose clean for 4 or 5 years, win a NC or two (I certainly hope not), show everyone that you've grown up (assuming he has), and still by age 50 he can be a head coach again.
As for Bama, this is the weirdest hire I can imagine. No way you can be 100% he won't do something totally immature and irresponsible. Jeopardizing the team chemistry. The guy has been poison everywhere he's gone. Just don't get it.
